Click Here History: The route 265 began on the 22nd June 1984 and provided a Monday to Saturday circular route from Putney Bridge Station., Putney, Upper Richmond Road, Roehampton Lane, Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton, Dover House Road, Upper Richmond Road, Putney, Putney Bridge Station. This route was only a one way operation. The route was operated from Chelverton Road garage (AF). The current PVR was Monday to Friday 2M and Saturday 3M.
On the 3rd August 1985 the circular route was withdrawn and the route was revised, it now provided a service between Putney Bridge Station and Roehampton (via Putney Bridge, Lower Richmond Rd, Putney Common, Roehampton Lane). The PVR stayed the same.
On the 25th May 1991, the route was converted to midibus operation and the 265 was extended from Roehampton to Tolworth Broadway to replace the withdrawn section of the
72. The late evening service only ran between Putney Bridge Station and New Malden. A Sunday service was also introduce on this date. The current PVR was Monday to Saturday 10MA and Sunday 8MA. On the 13th September 1997 the route was extended to Tolworth Red Lion all day as the there was no late evening service to Tolworth. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 10MA, Saturday 9MA and Sunday 7MA. Throughout May 1999 the route was partly converted to low floor operation the current PVR was Monday to Friday 5DMS/5DRL, Saturday 5DMS/4DRL and Sunday 5DMS/2DRL.
On the 29th June 2002 London General lost the contract to London United (Transdev). They now operate the route from Tolworth Garage (TV). The current PVR is Monday to Friday 11DPS, Saturday 11DPS and Sunday 9DPS. The average
journey time is between 35 and 60 minutes. The frequency Monday to Saturday is every 12 minutes, Sundays every 15 minutes and evenings run every 20 minutes.
