The 337 began on the 25th May 1991 and provided a service between Richmond to Clapham Junction. This replaced the withdrawn part of the 37
. The route was operated by London General by Metrobuses at Stockwell Bus Garage (SW). The current PVR was Monday to Friday 12M, Saturday 13M and Sunday 9M.
Later on the 10th May 1999 London General lost the contract to London United, and operated their new route at Fulwell Garage (FW) by Metrobuses. The current PVR was Monday to Saturday 11M and Sunday 9M. Later in November 1999 the route transferred to Hounslow Garage (AV) and the PVR for Monday to Saturday was not changed but Sunday’s was decreased by 1 bus (8M). By July 2000 low floor double deckers were introduced the current PVR was Monday to Saturday 11VA/VP and Sunday 8VA/VP.
On the 29th May 2004 Arriva won the contract for the 337 so they operated the route from their Wandsworth Garage (WD). They used brand new Dennis Wright Double Deckers for the 337. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 12DW, Saturday 11DW and Sunday 7DW. By the start of July these brand new buses were replaced by VLA’s, as the DW’s were transferred to Brixton Garage for the 137
. The average journey time is between 31 and 57 minutes. The frequency Monday to Saturday is every 12 minutes, Sunday and evening service is every 15 minutes.
