Former London Bus Route 16A (1976-1997) - Brent Cross - Cricklewood - Kilburn - Maida Vale - Marble Arch. Last Operated By Metroline
History:
The route 16A began on the 31st January 1976 and provided a service between Brent Cross Shopping Centre and Victoria (Via Hyde Park Corner) Monday to Saturday except late evenings. The route was operated from Cricklewood Garage (W) by DM type buses. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 22DM and Saturday 10DM Four years late on the 25th May 1980 the DM type was withdrawn and replaced by RML’s, there was a slight reduction to the PVR, Monday to Friday 19RML and Saturday 15RML. On the 25th April 1981 the route was diverted east bound at Marble Arch so the route served Oxford Circus. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 11RML and Saturday 15RML. On the 21st November 1987 the 16A was converted to One Person Operation using Metrobuses, there was another PVR change, Monday to Friday 12M and Saturday 15M.
On the 27th April 1991 the route was revised, Monday to Saturday except evenings ran from Brent Cross Shopping Centre to Oxford Circus and Monday to Saturday evenings ran from Brent Cross Shopping Centre to Kilburn Park Station. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 11M and Saturday 15M. On the 30th October 1994 a Sunday service was introduced, the route now ran from Brent Cross to Oxford Circus Daily Shopping Hours. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 10M, Saturday 14M and Sunday 6M. By 1995 the route was under the contract of Metroline. On the 10th October 1997 the route was withdrawn.
