Former London Bus Route 130B (1964-1987) - Thornton Heath - Purley Way - Waddon - West Croydon - Shirley - New Addington.

History:

The 130B began on the 29th January 1964 and was operated by RT class buses at South Croydon Garage (TC). The route of the 130B is Thornton Heath (MF peaks), Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath Pond, Purley Way, Waddon, West Croydon Bus Station (MF), East Croydon, Shirley, Gravel Hill, Addington Village, Lodge Lane, Headley Drive, Goldcrest Way then New Addington Salcot Crescent (MF evgs) or New Addington Vulcan Way via either Gascoigne Road or King Henrys Drive (MF except evgs). The route only ran Monday to Fridays and the current PVR was 12RT. By September the 130B was converted to Routemaster operation. On the 11th November 1967 the 130B was converted to RML class buses the PVR was currently 12RML Monday to Friday.
On the 18th April 1970 the 130B only ran on journeys to Vulcan Way in Monday to Friday peak hours, all the other time the 130B terminated at New Addington Salcot Crescent. The current PVR was 13RML Monday to Friday. Later in early march 1975 the PVR was changed to DM type buses, the current PVR for Monday to Friday was 12DM and 1RM. By the 28th October 1978 a weekend operation was introduced on the 130B which ran from West Croydon to New Addington Salcot Crescent (Mon-Sun) Monday to Friday Peaks ran from Thornton Heath to New Addington Vulcan Way. The weekend service on the 130B was fully one person operation. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 11DM and 2RM, Saturday 10DM and Sunday 6DMS.
In September 1982 the 130B was fully converted to One Man Operation using D type buses. An Monday to Friday express service was introduced which ran between West Croydon to New Addington Salcot Crescent, the route was using the same stops as the C4 used to run on. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 17D, Saturday 15D and Sunday 6D.
There was a few changes to the routing of the 130B in September 1984, Thornton Heath (MF peaks), West Croydon Bus Station- New Addington Salcot Crescent (MF except peaks/Sat/Sun) or New Addington Vulcan Way via either Gascoigne Road, King Henrys Drive (MF peaks), New Addington Homestead Way via King Henrys Drive (school journeys). The PVR stayed the same. By the 7th February 1987 the 130B was converted to Leyland Olympian operation the PVR was changed to Monday to Saturday 17L and Sunday 6L. Shortly after on the 22nd August 1987 the 130B was withdrawn, the route was replaced by the 64 and 130 and the 130B Express service was renumbered the X30.
