Former London Bus Route 277A - Poplar - Mile End - Hackney Station.
Last Operated By London Transport.

History:

The route 277A began on the 5th January 1974 and was operated at Popular Garage (PR). The route provided a daily service, Popular, Mile End (M-Sat), Hackney Station (MF evenings, Sat 0600-0900 and 1900 - 2300 /Suns). The route was introduced as some of buses had problems manipulating some of the bridges on the Isle of Dogs, so the RT type was introduced, as the 277 was converted to One Person Operation that is why these problems were occurring. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 8RT, Saturday 7RT and Sunday 5RT. On the 6th August 1976 the 277A was withdrawn and replaced by the 277.
