Former London Bus Route 115A (1964-1978) - Wallington - Carshalton Stn - Hackbridge - Mitcham, Streatham - Thornton Heath - Purley Way - Croydon Airport.

History: The route 115A began on the 18th November 1964 and provided a Sunday service between Wallington and Croydon Airport (Via Carshalton). The route was operated at Thornton Heath Garage (TH) by RT type buses. The current PVR was Sunday 4RT. By early October 1965 the route was converted to Routemaster operation (RM) so the RT type buses were withdrawn. The current PVR was Sunday 4RM. On the 1st January 1971 the RM type buses were withdrawn and replaced by SMS type buses. The route was now under one person Operation. The current PVR was Sunday 4SMS. On the 17th June 1972 a Saturday service was introduced, the route was Wallington – Croydon Airport (Sat/Sun) –Purley (Sat peak journeys). The current PVR was Saturday 9SMS and Sunday 4SMS. On the 28th October 1978 the route was withdrawn and replaced by
route 115.
