Former London Bus Route 205A (1961-1976) - Epping Forest - Waltham Abbey - Waltham Cross - Cheshunt - Flamstead End - Hammond Street.
Last Operated By London Transport.

History:

The route 205A began on the 11th October 1961 and ran a Sunday service between Epping Forest and Hammond Street, the 205A was put into service as this replaced some sections of the routes 205 and 242. Enfield Garage (E) allocated RT type buses to the 205A. The current PVR was 4RT Sunday. By the 16th January 1971 the Enfield allocation was withdrawn and replaced by Loughton Garage (L), the PVR was increased to 5RT on Sundays.

On the 1st July 1974 the terminal was changed to Hammond Street Smith’s Lane instead of Hammond Street Rising Sun. By The middle of May 1975 the route ran from Loughton Garage to Hammond Street (Smiths Lane), so the garage journeys ran all the time. In June the route was diverted to Ninefields Estate. The Current PVR was 3RT on Sundays. On the 10th April 1976 the 205A was withdrawn and replaced by route 217A and 279.
