Former London Bus Route 12A (1972-1990) Peckham - Barrie Road - East Dulwich - Forest Hill - Penge - Anerley - Norwood Junction - Addiscombe - East Croydon.

History:

The route 12A began on the 8th January 1972 and provided a service between Peckham Garage and South Croydon Garage. The route was operated from Elmers End Garage by SMS type buses. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 17SMS, Saturday 18SMS and Sunday 7SMS. On the 6th January 1973 the route was revised as this replaced the withdrawn section of route 54. The route was currently Peckham Garage South Croydon Garage (Sun) or Selsdon Farley Road (Mon-Sat) Riddlesdown (Mon-Fri school journeys). The current PVR was now Monday to Friday 21SMS, Saturday 19SMS and Sunday 7SMS. There were no changes until the 19th June 1977 the SMS type was withdrawn and replaced by Leyland Nationals. On the 25th April 1981 the 12A was withdrawn between Peckham and Forest Hill. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 19LS, Saturday 17LS and Sunday 7LS.

On the 4th September 1982 the Sunday service was withdrawn between the Swan and Sugar Loaf and South Croydon Garage. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 15LS, Saturday 13LS and Sunday 4LS. On the 4th February 1984 the route was extended from Selsdon to Old Lodge Lane. The current route was now Forest Hill - Croydon (Swan & Sugar Loaf) (Sun) or Selsdon, Riddlesdown, Purley, Old Lodge Lane (Mon-Sat). On the 1st February 1986 the route the Sunday service was withdrawn between Croydon Swan & Sugar Loaf and Croydon Park Lane. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 16LS, Saturday 17LS and Sunday 3LS. By the 21st June 1986 the Sunday service was re-numbered the 12B, and extended. The 12A now ran from Forest Hill to Old Lodge Lane Monday to Saturday. On the 25th October 1986 the route was extended to Peckham again, as Elmers End Garage (ED) had now closed the allocation was now at South Croydon (TC). The current PVR was Monday to Saturday 19LS. On the 1st September 1990 the route was re-numbered route 312.
