History:

On the 26th October 1968, the P1 was introduced and was operated at New Cross Garage (NX). The Monday to Saturday route was from New Cross Clifton Rise, Trundleys Road, Surrey Docks, Galleywall Road, Southwark Park Road, St James's Road, Surrey Docks, Trundleys Road and New Cross Clifton Rise, this was a circular route and on Sundays ran between New Cross Clifton Rise, Trundleys Road, Surrey Docks, Rotherhithe New Road and Old Kent Rd Canal Bridge. The current PVR was Monday to Friday 5MBS, Saturday 3MBS and Sunday 2MBS. On the 3rd July 1971 the route was converted to SMS type buses. A few years later on the 27th October 1978, the route was withdrawn and replaced by route P5.
