Route 494 was replaced by changes to
Route 367 Past Timetables: June 2000 Route History: - The route 494 began on the 10th June 2000 and provided a daily service between West Croydon and Shirley Monks Orchard. The route was operated by Metrobus at their Orpington Garage. They mainly used Dennis Darts on the 494, as the route was never busy except from school children. The current PVR was Monday to Sunday 3SD. On the 17th March 2001 the PVR was slightly changed, Monday to Friday 3SD+1SD/367, Saturday and Sunday 3SD.

- On the 30th August 2003 the route was converted to full time low floor single deck called Mini Pointer Darts, but you still saw the old Dennis Dart on the route up until mid 2004. The current PVR was Monday to Saturday 3MPD and Sunday 2MPD. Unfortunately the route was withdrawn on the 11th June 2005 and partly replaced by Route 367
