Click Here History: The 270 began on the 25th May 1991; it was operated by Merton garage (AL). This new route replaced the withdrawn sections of the
219,
220 and
280. The 270 served a route between Putney Bridge Station to Mitcham Cricketers, this was operated by Metrobuses. The 270 was operated by London General. The PVR currently was, 10M Monday to Friday, 11M Saturday and 9M Sunday.
By 1996 the 270 was revised to run via Putney Bridge Road in Both Directions, there was also a few changes to the PVR in 1996, Monday to Friday stayed the same at 10M, Saturday was increased by 1 to make it 12M, and Sunday was decreased by buses to make it 7M.
By late 2000, AL brought some brand new low floor double deck PVL’s for the 270, so this made it easier for wheelchair users to get on and off the bus. The PVR is currently 13PVL Monday to Friday, Saturday 12PVL, and Sunday 8PVL. The frequency of the 270 is, every 10 minutes Monday to Saturday, Sunday every 12-15 minutes and evenings every 15-18 minutes. There has been a few timetable changes throughout these 6 years.
